It does relieve back strain I first used my trimmer without the caddy and then with it. You could immediately tell the strain on your back was relieved. Going over level land is the easiest but when I hit rough terrain the wheel seemed to want to go in every direction at once. The caddy is easy to attach to the trimmer although at first I was confused as to how you adjusted the angle so that it was straight up and down. The instructions need some worrk.
