it’s a nice 5 amp trimmer i use gas trimmers at work and needed to top light weeds in a gravel driveway. i’d have built something but its cheaper to buy a trimmer than an equivalent brushless motor. i chose this model because i figured perhaps the craftsman designers would go more towards reliable components than chasing the latest feature buzzwords, i’m not sure this is much different from a craftsman corded electric i used 20 years ago.thankfully it arrived with a thick veneer of dust inside the box,…

This review is not so much about the actual performance of the trimmer. I’ve only had it a short time. But apparently they make no replacement spool for this trimmer (I have looked and I have called and emailed the manufacturer- Craftsman). So if the spool breaks I guess you buy a new trimmer?
