Product shipped with defected hydraulic part I ordered this jack months ago for emergency use. I had a flat tire and had a chance to use it yesterday. To my surprise, the Powerbuilt Jack could only jack up my car for a few inches (less than 5 inches) because the hydraulic jack could not hold up pressure. When I reached out for the instruction booklet, I found that the box was filled with oil (see photo). It is a clear indication that the product was shipped with a leaked hydraulic jack. I am disappointed and expect the product to…

1 worked, 1 was defective. 50% failure rate! So I ordered 2 of these. One worked just fine and the other one didn’t. Here was the problem with the 2nd one. Between the stand section and the hydraulic jack bottle is a space where the latch needs to be able to move freely. On the jack that works that space is probably about 1/4 inch, and on the non-working one that space is between 1/16-1/8 inch. So clearly their manufacturing and quality assurance process isn’t great if you’ve got that much variation on a critical component/area…

DO NOT BUY – it leaks hydraulic fluid like a sieve!! You know, there’s one absolute must when it comes to any and all bottle jacks. They MUST retain their hydraulic fluid in order to work properly. This one doesn’t and that makes it useless and a waste of money. Mine showed up leaking like crazy. The entire bottom of the shipping package was saturated with fluid. When a bottle jack’s seals can’t or won’t hold fluid even if the jack isn’t under pressure? Very bad sign. Indicates shoddy construction and poor engineering – not to mention…
