A bit pricey for just one blade, but quality is okay… I have no complaints about the blade itself – it’s sharp and the quality seems good. But I didn’t read the description carefully – I had assumed that I was getting a SET of blades, not just a single blade. (The machine takes two blades, I just assumed that I was getting two blades when I ordered.) Ten or twelve bucks seems fair for two blades, but kind of pricey for just one. I’m sure there’s more that goes into the production of the blades than I imagine, but… Oh well.I’ve used…

Break way too easy Didn’t think I would need these after only 3 uses, but the original blades broke way to easily using only green branches and leaves and thicknesses of no more than 1.25 inches, even though the machine said it could handle up to 1.5 inches. Very disappointing. The design of the blades seem OK for easy replacement, but the hardness of the steel is questionable since one of the blades was cracked so bad one of the bolts to hold it on was even missing. Light cleanup of softwood branches is fine. But this is not for many species of wood. I should have known better and bought a gasoline chipper for what I needed. I think, for the right end use this is fine. It punches right through softwood (pines, hemlock, larch, etc). Cherry, holly, maple area challenge for it. It stalls with these woods, even if they are less than an inch in diameter. The first time I had to open the blade compartment to clear it, the safety clip which has to engage before you can start the chipper, would not go into the slot it is supposed to. . I…
