First impressions are not great from prev. B&D owner I just received this trimmer and had no trouble assembling it.(you will need a medium Philips/cross-point screwdriver) I first removed the battery (which arrived with about 1/2 charge. These batteries have a built-in test for remaining charge)and charger to begin charging the battery. I have some familiarity with the gmax battery system, being a new owner of the 20″ Twin Force mower.(very impressed with that product so far). I do not care for Greenworks choice of paper for the instruction…

Try it, you’ll like it!! I have been using an orange and black 18 volt string trimmer for the last 4+ years. Other than buying a new battery every year, the thing has performed to my expectations. I have a 1/3 acre lot and it takes me 30 minutes or so to do all the trimming. It takes all of two batteries to get the job done and then it takes hours to recharge. I also own one of their 36 volt lawn mowers that is coming up 2 years old soon. The battery in it is starting to fail and I can’t see sticking $180 in it for…

A Solid Battery Trimmer, I’m Satisfied. The battery compartment design was awkward at first but I learned to appreciate the wrist support aspect by padding the compartment while it rests under your forearm. The build doesn’t feel cheap and the power is great.
