These things are weighty, properly coated to resist rust and have a very nice set of flutes cut into them to make it easy to tighten by hand, even when wet/slippery (or wearing gardening gloves). A Quality Part (not like it’s plastic predecessor) I had the plastic version of this and each one broke after one or two seasons of use. Each time I ordered another one. After the third one broke, I could no longer find the plastic one (amazon’s site said it was discontinued by the manufacturer).
