It really works! This little sharpener worked very well, but if you have a very dull tool or blade, don’t expect it to sharpen in a few passes. I have an old Lawnboy mower that has never had the blade properly sharpened in over 20 years! I have a small lawn, and just never gave it much thought. Well this year I noticed how ragged the ends of the grass blades were. I tried to get the old blade off the mower to replace it, but I could not. Good for the tool box. First, this little tool does not replace your bench grinder or disc etc. I bought it to just ‘touch up” the blades on my tractors without removing them. Its small size makes it easy to reach under the raised deck and give it a slight quick little edge. Of course it doesn’t take out divots and dents, you have to take the blades off for that and sharpen them with a grinder. Great product that will keep your grass looking great! I’m pretty handy around the house. I redid my garage, I hang garage storage items, I paint things, install new bathroom fans. And I’d like to think I’m detail oriented enough to be able to take a lawn mower blade to a bench grinder and sharpen it. Just like my dad did when I was a kid. But I’m smart enough to know better.
