No Tap-to-Advance the string on this one… I bought this item based on generally good reviews here. The unit has generally good construction and seems fairly sturdy. However, a major fault (in my opinion) is the lack of a tap-to-advance string feature. Instead, it incrementally advances the line automatically every time the trigger is released. So, if you’re trimming in a high wear situation, like edging the drive, you find yourself constantly pausing to “gun” the trigger in order to advance the line, instead of being able…

Re-spooling is a pain in the a*s Works great when it’s working but the re-stringing process is TERRIBLE. I almost threw this thing away because the spool is unlike anything else on the market (all YouTube restringing instructions didn’t apply here) and the manual is even wrong! (See photos).Still haven’t figured out how to re-spool this thing properly). Not The Right One for Me At first it seemed like it would work well for me. However, it is too heavy for me to use with the wheel. I struggled.trying to cut tall grass next to our brick wall so instead, I used my clippers. The 3rd time I used the trimmer, the lines broke and so none were outside the spool. I cannot remove the spool to check for more line or replace the spool. Unfortunately, I already tossed the box it came in, etc. and it’s a complete waste of money for me.
