A must for the ION16 LM40 Mower If your thinking about cutting your lawn with the Sun Joe Ion WITHOUT the grass catcher, this is a must. The mower itself isn’t really a mulcher, but using this discharge chute, blocks grass from clumping behind the grass catcher door. It keeps the grass near the blade by blocking the grass from trying to shoot out the back. The picture is a little misleading. You have to turn it upside down from the way the picture shows and just lift the catcher door and push it into the grass opening with…

It works but instructions suck This piece of plastic aka chute worked like a charm. I did take off one star for the terrible instructions. If it wasn’t for another reviewer with pictures of it installed I would of never got it in right. For those trying to figure it out the chute stands up with the open end of the handle at the top of the discharge area where the door closes. I’d advise to see the other reviewers pictures or the pics I posted. You have to tilt it a little to get it in and push a bit till it goes in…
