As a Makita fan…not impressed First up, I’m a big Makita fan. I have just about every Makita cordless tool they make except for some of the really niche products (i.e. the concrete agitator). I generally love the professional quality,durability and design they put into their tools. I have about 22 different cordless Makita tools running on their 18v lineup. The only quibble I have with the lineup in general is that the batteries are sometimes a bit difficult to slide in and out. With that in mind, I purchased their 18V x2…

Mediocre cutting performance, subpar build quality compared to other Makita tools. I needed a mower for a small, 1/2 acre yard. Having invested heavily in the Makita LXT lineup (about 8 other tools), and generally being impressed with their products, this was a natural choice. In the repair shop for 5 weeks The shaft that connects the two front wheels on my mower broke at a weld. I can tell you the weld on the shaft had very poor penetration.
