Ideal for cultivating garden beds, landscape beds, and weeding, the Black & Decker LGC120 cordless garden cultivator/tiller easily breaks up soil to allow water and nutrients to reach plant roots. It’s also great for prepping dry spots in lawn for seeding plus existing beds for planting. The two long tines are small enough to maneuver in between plants and counter-oscillating tines prevent weeds from tangling.

The telescoping shaft adjusts for the perfect length, allowing you to operate it standing up without bending over. This upright design combined with the comfortable grips and an adjustable auxiliary handle means that you can work longer without over-taxing muscles and joints.

This cultivator is powered by a 20-volt MAX lithium-ion battery that offers a longer lifespan and retains its charge 5x longer than similar 18-volt NiCad batteries–and you won’t be limited by an extension cord. It’s compatible with the full line of Black & Decker’s 20-volt MAX line of power and gardening tools. You’ll be able to cultivate up to 325 square feet per charge. The battery is also designed with 50 percent less battery weight, and the unit weighs a total of 8.1 pounds with battery installed.

The included Energy Star-qualified charger will charge a fully depleted battery in about 8 hours. You can also swap the battery among your other Black & Decker cordless lawn tools that are compatible with 20-volt MAX lithium-ion batteries. It’s backed by a two-year limited warranty.

This little guy works its heart out! Love it for small garden work! Great back saver! My husband used to do all of my digging in the garden . . . then we was severely injured. I had to find something that would loosen up the dirt for me. This cultivator will work up 4″ deep soil at a time. You don’t need to press heavily on the cultivator – it does the work on it’s own. This isn’t really for continuous long amounts of time for cultivation, but it will work on those smaller jobs of planting annuals, etc. If it gets a little warm, that’s normal. I just let it cool down…

Breaks up big clods of dirt I’m a fan of the no-till/deep mulch gardening method. However, I needed something to help me prepare garden beds from scratch (read: lawn) in compacted, unworked ground. Enter this tool. This is a cultivator, not a tiller. As such, it works on prepared soil, breaking up the larger pieces. It won’t really work on previously-unworked soil, so I had to dig first and then run this cultivator over the area. If you don’t want to go through cutting sod and digging, and you want to till…

Great tool, battery life sucks!!! Watched a few videos of people using this little hand held cultivator and seen how much fun they were having with it I just had to try it out in my garden. When I received my package I immediately put it together and put the battery on the charger for a few days before I put it to use. Now I have 7 garden rows that are 30 feet long and 3 feet wide with loose clay soil. My plan was to get the grass out of my rows with this little cultivator. Started off this thing was working great and doing…
