BIG SURPRISE! I’m not often surprised but this charger met the test. Two summer seasons ago I bought a B&D 18V grass trimmer/edger that came with two Ni-CAD batteries and a charger. As I began the 3rd season the batteries lasted about 5 minutes, still requiring 9-hours to charge. Rather than trashing the whole unit, I bought two new replacement batteries on Amazon (Energup) that boasted 3.0Ah or about double the power of the original OE batteries. Much faster charge! Perfect! This charger exceeded expectations. I have an older Black and Decker trimmer/blower combo that runs off of the older 18v (non- lithium ion) batteries. The problem was that the little slip on charger that came with them would take 6-8hrs to charge a battery. I was going to buy a newer set that had the lithium batteries… But I figured I’d try this $20 charger first.
