Offering Black & Decker’s exclusive PowerDrive Transmission, the 24-inch cordless LHT2436 dual-action hedge trimmer delivers more power from the motor to the blades so you can get the job done faster. It’s powered by Black & Decker’s high-powered 36-volt lithium battery system, which offers power, excellent runtime, and the versatility to share batteries with other tools within the system.

The Lithium Advantage

Black & Decker’s 36-volt lithium-ion system offers numerous benefits over older battery technologies and gas options, notably the ability to put more power into a small and compact battery. Lithium batteries have a longer lifecycle than other types, and they also hold their charge longer when taken off the charger. This means that once charged, a lithium battery is always ready to use. The included Energy Star-rated fast charger fully recharges the battery in about 1 hour.

Cutting Power and Convenience

With Black & Decker’s exclusive Power Drive transmission, you’ll be able to cut up to twice the amount of branches without stalling, and the 24-inch dual-action blades produce less vibration while trimming compared to single-action blade models. It’s enough to cut through branches up to 3/4-inch thick. The LHT2436 features a full wrap-around front handle provides a comfortable gripping area in all cutting orientations (and is large enough to accommodate gloves), soft rubber grip, and a built-in cord retention system to avoid accidental unplugging.

Serious tool built for real-world yardwork This is the third cordless hedge trimmer I’ve owned. The first two (made by Ryobi)were affordable and easy to use, but neither seemed up to the tasks I bought them to do. They frequently ended up being overwhelmed by what I considered a moderate workload and their battery life was, in a word, short (think 10-15 minutes of trimming at a stretch). So after giving up on those models I decided to get the new Black & Decker LHT2436 Cordless Hedge Trimmer and see what a 36-volt battery could do…

Black and Decker Burn out I wasnt going to say anything about my experience with this hedge trimmer, but then I saw another reviewer with similar experience. I too stunk up the yard within a week of getting my trimmer. It seemed to be working great initially and trimmed small forsythia bushes great. However within a short period it started to clatter. I never cut anything larger than about 1/8″ and only recharged the battery once. After 10 minutes use after the second battery charge dense white smoke poured out of the…

No more cords! First I let it charge over night then I put it to work. I trimmed a few small things first to get used to it but then put it to work on a 60 foot long by 10 foot high laurel. Half way through the battery check light said it was done but it was still going strong after 2 hours. I decided to charge again over night and finished the other half the next day. I cut 2 to 3 feet off the top of the laurel plus down the sides. If I had two batteries I could have done it in one day easily. It…
