Swisher all the way! A week ago we bought this unit as we bought a property in the mountains and lots of clearing is needed. After ending 2 heavy duty lawn mowers and damaging a garden tractor, we thought we’d give it a try. So far we are very happy and are able to work on areas that gave us a lot of problems. No problems with the rocks, trees stumps, we just keep on going. To us it is the best way to go. It is better build than the 2 other models we saw at sears and lowes. Don’t buy this!!! This is VERY poorly made! The plastic housing on the top looked like it was cut by hand and the cut-out didn’t allow the head to turn 90 degrees to edge lawns etc. The entire unit shook violently making it very difficult to operate. The nose is loose and won’t tighten up, too much play. No cover underneath and throws alot of debris onto the belt. Also very difficult to start and keep running, the throttle and starter pull cord is on the unit NOT the handle making it difficult to hold the…
The way that the swisher is described does not match the way it operates. its a bit of a disappointment and it eats up trimmer line. Its difficult to operate vertically as advertised and the company did not return my call when asked about the operation.
