Black & Decker’s Extended Runtime Technology features electronics that allow this trimmer/edger to maintain constant speed in a variety of grass conditions so the it runs at an efficient speed for extended battery life. Overall very satisfied It’s a great trimmer for people such as I who have a somewhat small lawn . It’s power is good for it being one string in oppose to other two string edgers. If you’re looking into have a good electric edger and not spending more this one is for you. I also recommend to use number 1 power . There’s a option of choosing 1 or 2 , 2 is of course powerful but drains the battery. I just cut my edges with the 2 and my battery drained just when I was about done . I would have given it 5 stars if it would have run an hour on the two 20V batteries This Black & Decker LST420 trimmer / edger is part of the 20V Max tool system that uses the same line of rechargeable 20 volt batteries. It is a nice cordless trimmer with 2 power settings. The trimmer can be rotated so that it performs as an edger (which allows the orange wheel at the bottom of the trimmer to be rolled along a flat surface). Not as powerful as the 40 volt but still gets the job done I recently purchased a B&D 40 volt lithium trimmer and then was offered this via the Vine program. Since we have a 2nd property, I jumped at the opportunity to try this one out. As might be expected, it isn’t quite as powerful as the 40 volt version but otherwise, is very similar in function, weight and appearance.
