Includes 3.5 Amp 12-in Straight Shaft Electric String Trimmer / Edger – ST4500Ideal for both post-mowing maintenance edging and trimming grass in hard-to-reach areas mowers cannot access, this electric two-in-one tool from Black & Decker helps keep your yard looking its best. Powered by a 35 Amp motor that revolves at a speed of 10,000 RPM, the ST4500 cuts a 12-inch path quickly and easily. For fast transitions from trimming to edging, the “Groom ‘n’ Edge” head spins 180 degrees, while a flip-down edge guide gets close to tight areas around sidewalks, driveways, or pavement paths. There’s also a convenient cord retention system to guard against unintended unplugging of the tool while you’re working, and a built-in assist handle to minimize wrist fatigue.

Lawn Guy says:

Bump feed failed immediately After I started using this (brand new) ST4500 trimmer, the bump feed failed immediately and then jammed time after time.If you want a trimmer that forces you to stop, dis-assemble, re-thread, re-assemble every time the cutting string gets short (or jams) — this is the unit for you.For everyone else – a complete waste of money.

Mr. MP7 says:

Defective by Design I concur with the other critical reviews here. This product is defective by design. The symptom is excessive line breakage which results in the end trapped inside the feed spool. The problem is undue wear at the metal grommet through which the line feeds from the spool. After some use, the end of the cord wears down 1/2 to 1″, but the fatal flaw is that simultaneously the cord at the feed grommet has worn through 1/2 the diameter of the cord, significantly weakening the…
