Heavy but solid and works well Early 2011 impressions: We’ve now used our non-self-propelled version of the Steele three times under more or less ideal conditions on two different urban-sized lawns and so far, it’s been fine. The height adjustment on our sample works smoothly and locks positively into place. The mower goes about its business without drama, making the same sounds at the same volume as our 2-year-old Black & Decker CMM1200. Mower is horrible Bought this mower last spring (2011). Wanted something environmentally friendler than gas powered. Used it for the summer. Definitely not as powerful as gas mower. It doesn’t seem to cut the grass as well. It is very quiet and the height adjustment is very easy to use. Unfortunately, the self-propel feature stopped working during the second use this year.
